There comes a point in every entrepreneurial journey when you have to stop asking what you need to DO and start focusing on who you need to BE in your business.
In this episode of the InFlow Podcast, I speak with mindfulness business coach Andrea Freeman about her thought-provoking approach to entrepreneurship, mindfulness training, and holistic development.
An Entreprenurial Journey Towards Self
Andrea started her first business at the tender age of 12, and has been pushing the entrepreneurial envelope ever since. She has built several successful enterprises in a range of fields including catering, and events management, before settling into her current role as the leader of a dynamic mindfulness business coaching company.
According to Andrea, the entrepreneurial journey is one of self-discovery and personal growth.
“There is an enormous amount of personal development and growth that needs to take place to enable you to thrive as an entrepreneur. But, thriving means different things to different people. Therefore, developing your self-knowledge is critical to your success in business and in life”
Andrea Freeman
It Takes a Village To Grow a Business
When you start on your entrepreneurial journey, it can feel lonely at times. However, just as it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a village to raise a business.
Andrea points out that when she started her entrepreneurial journey, she found a community to support her personal growth, which directly affected her success.
“At each stage of your professional growth as an entrepreneur, it’s important to find a community of people who understand what you want and the way that you think. It’s also essential that your community is diverse, with some people in the same place as you are and some ahead of you. Your community needs to be able to hold space for you to show up as the best version of yourself so that you can create something that is authentically your own and fulling as a business pursuit.”

Scaling with Flow, Ease, and Grace
According to Andrea, the biggest challenge that people need to overcome as they embark on their entrepreneurial journey is the limitation that they place on themselves.
“When we are growing up, where are surrounded by voices that tell us what our limitations are. And the problem is that we start to internalize those voices and project them onto ourselves. However, we live in a limitless universe and your potential to achieve your dreams is limitless, too.”
-Andrea Freeman
Andrea uses a very clever analogy to explain how to embrace mindfulness and the law of attraction in your life and business.
“When you are a guest at a party, you accept what is on offer. However, when you are the host, you get to decide on the venue, the mood, the music, and the food. The challenge is to step into the role of host in your life. To start to make the decision that will determine what is on offer for you, your family, and your business.”
Andrea Freeman
Once you are the host of your party, you can start to scale your business from a position of abundance, focusing on all that you have and want to build rather than focusing on all the things that aren’t on offer.
“Once you start scaling your business from the abundant perspective, you can scale with flow, ease, and grace – because it will come naturally.”
